Addressed from "Giverny, near Vernon, Eure," a handwritten letter to French painter Henri Guerard regarding his campaign to buy Edouard Manet's painting 'Olympia.' In full (translated): "I acknowledge receipt of the two hundred francs you sent, that is 100 for you and 100 for Madame Guerard-Gonzalès, as a subscription for the purchase of Manet’s Olympia. With my thanks, believe me most cordially yours." In fine condition.
