ALS, one page, 5 x 7.75, personal letterhead, July 2, 1881. Handwritten letter to "Postmaster Pearson," in part: "I understand there is an opening for a promotion, and if so, I desire to say a word in favor of C. W. Lewis…Mr. Lewis has been a carrier for eleven years and so far as we have knowledge, & experience he has been honest, faithful and competent." In fine condition.
