American admiral (1801-1870) who was a flag officer of the Navy during the Civil War. Scarce oversized 11 x 15.75 print of Rear-Admiral David G. Farragut in uniform, published by C. B. Richardson, signed in the lower right in ink, "D. G. Farragut, Rear Admiral." Also bears a facsimile signature. Framed to an overall size of 13 x 17.5; a label on the reverse reads: "Property of J. A. E. S. Brainard, belonged to Gideon Welles." In very good to fine condition, with two edge tears, one of which passes through Farragut's last name.
