Important Victorian British poet (1837-1909) whose ‘decadent’ subject matter (including sadomasochism and lesbianism) made him one of the most controversial literary figures of his day. ALS signed “A. C. Swinburne,” one page, 4.5 x 7, July 10. Handwritten letter, in part: "Please sent a copy of any pamphlet to John Morley, care of Messrs. Chapman & Hall, with my compliments; & one to Philip Marston, above address…I should be much obliged if you could send me the Saturday Review & Spectator weekly while I stay here." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and staining.
