Handwritten letter to novelist Lucien Descaves, in part (translated): "Sunday morning I had just finished drinking the cup of tea Berthe had brought me and I was deep in gloomy and distressing thoughts: I was, like the song, disgusted—disgusted—disgusted—when Berthe said: 'Did you see the article of Descaves on Radio-Clandestins? My dear Lucien, your paper has reconciled me with life, and I really loved it…In this dim, sickening, adultered and catastrophic epoch of outs, I suddenly felt how much good can come out of a real, sincere and sure friendship." In fine condition, with light toning from prior display.
