Four-language ship’s papers for a Pacific whaling voyage

Partly-printed DS, signed "John Tyler" as president and "Dan'l Webster" as secretary of state, one page, 20.5 x 16.5, August 18, 1842. Four-language ship’s papers issued to Aaron C. Cushman, “master or commander of the Ship called George Howland…lying at present in the port of New Bedford bound for Pacific Ocean and laden with Provisions, Stores & Utensils for a whaling voyage.” Boldly signed at center by President Tyler and countersigned by Secretary of State Webster. The embossed white paper seal remains fully intact. Mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 29.5 x 25.5. In fine condition, with some creasing to the top edge.
