Handwritten letter to Mr. Kennedy, in full: "I am just now recovering, I may almost say I have recovered, from another severe & painful attack of Rheumatism. This is the reason yours of the 26 ultimo did not receive an immediate answer. Many thanks for your report on the census! I have not yet been able to examine it." In very good to fine condition, with soiling and scattered stains (one touching Buchanan's first name), and a trimmed top edge.
