Two items: a vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 Harris & Ewing portrait of Hoover, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue fountain pen, "The good wishes of Herbert Hoover"; and a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, August 23, 1949, addressed to Paul M. Hammaker, in full: "I want you to know how deeply I appreciate your most gracious greetings on my birthday I am grateful for your generous friendship." The letter is archivally mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14 x 17.5. In overall fine condition, with a crease to the lower right blank area of the letter, and a few small creases and a paperclip impression to the photo.
