ALS signed “M. Van Buren,” one page, 8 x 10, April 29, 1836. Handwritten letter to the president of the Columbian Horticultural Society, in part: "Your letter informing me of my election as an honorary member of the 'Columbian Horticultural Society' has been received & I ask the favor of you to make my best acknowledgments to the members of the Society for the honor they have confirmed upon me." In very good condition, with light toning, a tear and a chip to the right edge, old mounting residue along the right edge of the second page, and a small portrait of Van Buren affixed to the top of the first page.
