TLS signed “C. W. Nimitz,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Bureau of Navigation letterhead, July 5, 1939. Letter to Ensign Burrows W. Morgan, Jr., of the Navy's Supply Corps, denying a request for resignation. In part: "The Bureau regrets that it will be unable to accept your resignation effective 30 September, 1939, as no relief is available for you at present. It is suggested that in September, 1939, if you still desire to resign, you resubmit your request for consideration by the Bureau at that time." In very good to fine condition, with stains along the left edge from old tape on the back.
