Description

King of Prussia (born 1712) from 1740 until his death in 1786. His political prowess and enlightened attitudes toward religion, learning, and the humanities earned him the sobriquet 'Frederick the Great.' LS in German, one page, 7.25 x 9, April 4, 1784. Letter to Minister of State von Danckelmann, concerning the claim of Lt. von Hahn of the Schwartz Regiment for monies owed him by Capt. von Cordin, deceased. Frederick had been informed that the local authorities in Neisse had paid the lieutenant precisely the sum claimed. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing and soiling, and a small area of paper loss at fold intersections.
