Longstreet,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 10.5, Office of Longstreet, Owen & Co. letterhead, March 1, 1867. Letter of business to Major T. F. Jackson, in part: "The demands for money and supplies in other parts of the country have been so numerous and so unjust that we can see no hope at present of making consignments of produce to you for the use of your neighbors. It seems to me a strange idea of yours and many others that your business should go to the towns of the state. Business should flow through the natural and proper channels and must do so eventually. If your cotton or anything else pays you better when sold in Mobile than where it is sold in N. D., you should send it to Mobile and sell it."
