Iconic matte-finish 13 x 10.5 photo of Nimitz signing the Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ink, "To George Ross MacLean—with best wishes, C. W. Nimitz, Fleet Admiral, USN." A preprinted signature also appears inherent to the image. Nicely double-matted and framed with a portrait of Nimitz to an overall size of 26 x 17.5. In fine condition, with some light silvering, slight fuzziness to the ink, and two small stains in the right border.
