Description

British novelist, short story writer, poet, and essayist (1918-2006). Handwritten poem signed "Muriel Spark," one page, 5.25 x 7, dated, "Visitation of B.V.M., Amersham, 1953." Spark writes a poem entitled "County Town," in full: "It is the market clock that moony glows / Where two hands point, two poplars interlock / Night's verities knock / Normal perspectives comatose, / Proving the moon a market clock, / The trees, time's laughing-stock." In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, light creasing, and a paperclip impression to the top edge.
