Two items: an ink signature, "Yours truly, Henry W. Longfellow," on an off-white 4.25 x 2.25 slip with date notation below, "May 1858"; and an ALS signed "J. R. Lowell," one page, 4.5 x 7, 10 Lowndes Square letterhead, December 24, 1883, addressed to Mrs. Boughton, in full: "It will give me great pleasure to dine with you on the 16th January at quarter to 8. With best wishes for a Merry Xmas & happy New Year." In overall very good to fine condition, with several vertical folds to Longfellow, and corner stains to Lowell. Accompanied by an engraving of Longfellow bearing a facsimile signature.
