DS, signed “Richard Avedon,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, June 8, 1948. Contact by which The Ballet Theatre, Inc. engages Avedon to "furnish all photographs for and supervise the 1948-49 edition of the Ballet Theatre Souvenir Program?you shall employ the services of Alexey Brodovitch as exclusive art designer for the said Program, it being understood that you will pay Mr. Brodovitch's compensation." Signed at the conclusion by Avedon and Brodovitch. In fine condition. Revered for his fashion and portrait photography, Avedon was one of the premier American photographers of the 20th century; Brodovitch is best remembered as the art director of Harper's Bazaar from 1934 to 1958.
