Description

Training manual for the Harley-Davidson Factory Service School, signed by Arthur in 1937

Fascinating softcover 1937 Harley-Davidson Factory Service School technician's training binder, 9 x 11.5, 18 total pages, signed in ink on a document affixed inside the back cover, "Arthur Davidson." The document reads: "This is to certify that H. D. Sudmeyer attended our Factory Service School—class of February 8th, 1937, and completed the mechanics training course." The binder contains a “Horse Power” blueprint stamp-dated as “Approved, Jan 20, 1937, W. S. Harley,” and has several "Shop Dope" memos dated between 1935 to 1937, which relate to servicing and maintenance. A 19-person roster for the February class is affixed to the inside of the front cover, which lists “H. D. Sudmeyer, Stockton, Calif.” as one of the students. In very good to fine condition, with heavy soiling and wear to the covers; interior pages are all clean. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA, as well as by a vintage glossy 10 x 8 of the exterior of Sudmeyer’s Harley-Davidson dealership, with the reverse stamped with his name.
