Description

An original Brando sketch: “I was not afraid to live and I am not afraid to die”

Original signed ink sketch of a portrait of a young, handsome man who bears a striking resemblance to his friend, Johnny Depp, on a white 8 x 5 sheet. To the right of the sketch, Brando writes: "I was not afraid to live and I am not afraid to die. It makes no difference my people will be free one day." Presumably, Brando's "my people" is a reference to Native Americans, whose cause he had championed for decades. Depp had directed Brando in 1997's The Brave, and they co-starred in Don Juan DeMarco. In fine condition, with a small stain to the right edge.
