Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 18 x 15, June 26, 1905. President Roosevelt appoints Eugene W. Van C. Lucas as a "Major in the Corps of Engineers in the Service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Theodore Roosevelt and countersigned by Acting Secretary of War Robert Shaw Oliver. Lower left retains the original blue War Office seal. Matted to an overall size of 21 x 18. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.
