Description

American boxing promoter (1870-1929) who also founded the New York Rangers hockey team and built the third incarnation of Madison Square Garden. During the 1920s, Rickard was the leading promoter of the day and has been compared to P. T. Barnum and Don King. Ink signature, "Tex Rickard, New York City, Feb. 16th, 1924,” on an off-white 4 x 2.25 card. In fine condition, with old adhesive residue on the back.
