Louisiana politician (1845-1921) who served as the ninth Chief Justice of the United States from 1910 to 1921. Vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 13.25 Harris & Ewing portrait photo of Edward Douglass White in his judicial robe, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "M. T. O'Brien?with the good wishes of, E. D. White.” Affixed to a slightly larger mount. In fine condition. Signed photos of White are very uncommon.
