German-Austrian actor (1884-1950) who became the first winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor; he is best known for his collaborations with F. W. Murnau and Josef von Sternberg. Vintage glossy 7 x 9 photo of Jannings as the title character from the film The Adventures of King Pausole, signed and inscribed in black ink, "Louis Nee…Emil Jannings, Wien 1932.” In fine condition, with some light crazing to the emulsion. Louis Nee (1895-1977) was a famous French cinematographer.
