American jazz vocalist and entertainer (born 1917) who sang with Louis Armstrong's big bands and small groups from 1942 until her death in 1961. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 publicity photo of Middleton with a fur shawl, signed and inscribed in black ink, "To Richard, best wishes always, Velma Middleton.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered creases, one of which runs along Middleton's right jawline.
