British-American actress (1898-1989) whose prolific career included roles in films like Casablanca, National Velvet, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and The Sound of Music. ALS, penned on the reverse of a glossy 5.5 x 3.5 photo postcard of Norma Varden, postmarked January 2, 1963. Letter to collector Bonnie Lou Ivers, in full: "Thank you so much for your charming note, which somehow got lost & took a very long time to reach me. Have a wonderful New Year." Additionally, Varden has signed her name below her image on the reverse. In very good to fine condition, with a crease to the upper right corner, and postal impressions to the left side.
