Union general (1830-1909) who participated at Gettysburg and commanded the Army of Tennessee during Sherman’s March to the Sea. Partly-printed DS, signed “O. O. Howard, Maj. Genl.,” one page, 17 x 11, July 17, 1863. Pay voucher for himself and four private servants, amounting to a total of $433.15. Howard signs at the conclusion, and fills out the description of the servants in the lower left in his own hand. The four listed are almost certainly the private servants that attended him at Gettysburg. In fine condition.
