ALS, one page, 7.25 x 8.75, March 9, 1841. Written from Greenburgh, a letter to D. H. Williams, in part: "Yours of the 22'd ult. has but recently reached me. Without reference to the terms you propose for an article from my pen, I would…that I find it will be utterly impossible to prepare any thing in time for this year's publication. I have already literary engagements in hand which will more than occupy the time and thought which I can spare from other concerns at present pressing upon me. Another year I may have something in readiness, or more leisure. Wishing you all possible success in your undertaking." Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet. In fine condition.
