Description

American military and intelligence officer (1883-1959) who received the Medal of Honor in World War I and later headed the Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor of the CIA. DS, signed “William J. Donovan,” one page, 10.75 x 8.25, October 1, 1945. A certificate of military service issued to Evron M. Kirkpatrick, which states that he "Honorably served the United States of America as a member of the Office of Strategic Services." Signed at the conclusion by Donovan as office director. In fine to very fine condition. Kirkpatrick was the brother of Jeane Kirkpatrick, the 1st Female U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
