American author (1915-2019) who is best known for historical fiction such as The Caine Mutiny, which won the Pulitzer Prize. Vintage glossy 8.25 x 10 close-up photo of the acclaimed author, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Warmest good wishes to 'the Ken Brownes'—Sincerely, Herman Wouk, 7 III 56.” In fine condition, with scattered light creasing. Signed photos of Wouk are uncommon, with this example autographed not long after the publication of his 1955 novel Marjorie Morningstar.
