Crisp ink signature, "Very truly yours, H. B. Stowe, Mandarin, May 29, 1879," on an off-white 3.5 x 2.25 card. In fine condition, with old mounting remnants on the reverse. Accompanied by an engraved portrait bearing a facsimile signature. Stowe signed this while in Mandarin, Florida, the 'tropical paradise' where she wintered from 1867 to 1884, and where she fled after her brother Henry Ward Beecher's affair became national scandal.
