Description

Civil War-dated ALS as vice president, signed “H. Hamlin,” one page both sides, 5 x 8, February 9, 1864. Letter to N. A. Farwell, in part: "I have reflected upon the matter to which you invite my attention. I would like right well to confer more fully with you more fully than I can well do by letter. But as that cannot be done, I will say that I have much doubt about the propriety of the Legislature's saying or doing anything upon the Presidency. But it is probable that neither you or the Legislature will agree with me." In fine condition.
