Description

On the promotion of aviation, "which is going to be so entirely revolutionized as a result of this 2nd World War"

TLS as governor of the Bahamas, signed “Edward,” one page, 6.5 x 8.5, Government House, Bahamas letterhead, July 7, 1942. Letter to John Walter Wood, written as governor of the Bahamas. In part: "I write to thank you for sending me a copy of your book 'Airports,' together with Major A. P. de Seversky's 'Victory Through Airpower'…As a keen promoter of private flying and air travel in Great Britain up to 1936, these two books have a great interest for me. I have landed at many of the airports which feature in your work and believe that there is a great deal of truth in Major de Seversky's theories. Now, as Governor of an Island Colony, which is becoming eve increasingly dependent upon transportation by air, I have an opportunity of continuing my interest in aviation, which is going to be so entirely revolutionized as a result of this 2nd World War." In fine condition, with two filing holes, and associated light rust staining, to the top edge.
