Physician, editor, and songwriter (1836-1898) best known as the lyricist for the hymn 'The Sweet Bye and Bye.' AQS on an off-white 5 x 7.75 sheet, signed at the conclusion, "S. Fillmore Bennett, Alma, Mich: Feb. 3, 1891." Bennett quotes from the first verse of his hymn "Sweet By-and-By," concluding with its chorus: "In the Sweet By and By / We shall meet on that Beautiful Shore— / In the Sweet By-and-By / We shall meet on that Beautiful Shore." In fine condition.
