In full (translated): "Dear Vladimir Lvovich, I am sending you two tickets to Yama." In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold, light soiling, and two file holes to the left edge. Yama, or The Pit, centered on the lives of prostitutes in a brothel, was one of Kuprin's most ambitious and controversial novels. In this letter, he sends tickets to some type of cultural event—an author's reading or theatrical presentation—related to the famous work.
