Description

Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R. I.,” one page, 18.25 x 13.25, July 30, 1898. Queen Victoria approves of the appointment of Emil Edler von Hirsch to be "Consul at Singapore" for "The Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary." Signed in the upper left by the queen, and countersigned in the lower right by Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury. In very good condition, with toning, creasing, light staining, and old tape on the reverse.
