Description

TLS signed “C. B. de M.,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Paramount Pictures letterhead, October 3, 1935. Letter to Aileen Brenon of Paramount. In part: “What do you think of the Buffalo Bill idea? It may shock you at first, but remember that I made The Virginian, The Girl of the Golden West, Rose of the Rancho, and The Squaw Man three times. I thought, perhaps a change into a few American character studies, such as Buffalo Bill, would prove a diversion and a little change for me in between Samson and Delilah and The Crusades…I believe The Crusades will be as big a box office attraction throughout the country in picture theatres as it is proving to be in England.” Letter also bears an ink correction to the second paragraph. In fine condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through the last letter of the signature).
