Historic matte-finish 13.75 x 11 photo of Nimitz signing the Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ballpoint, "To Helen and Ed Grice—with best wishes, C. W. Nimitz, Fleet Admiral, USN." He adds a second signature, "C. W. Nimitz, U.S. Representative," on the surrender documents in the image. In fine condition, with rippling to the sides, and tiny tears to the left edge.
