Early partly-printed DS, endorsed “J. Q. Adams” on the reverse, one page, 8 x 6.5, June 11, 1793. An order issued to the sheriff of Suffolk County, Massachusetts, commanding him bring Samuel Nicholson of Boston "before Our Justices of Our Court of Common Pleas…to answer unto Zephemiah Newland" concerning a debt. Endorsed on the reverse by Adams as a witness. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling and toning, and professional repairs to the two vertical folds. Adams had been admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1791, and began practicing law in Boston.
