Civil War-dated ALS signed “O. W. Holmes,” one page, 4.5 x 7, personal letterhead, March 30, 1862. In full: "My engagements in Boston have compelled me to give up lecturing at a distance. I regret therefore that I must give up the pleasure of visiting Albany again and renewing the pleasure I have often had in your hospitable city." In fine condition, with intersecting folds and some soiling to the upper left corner.
