Partly-printed DS as president, signed “M. Van Buren,” one page, 8 x 9.75, March 22, 1840. President Van Buren authorizes and directs "the Secretary of State to affix the Seal of the United States to Exequaturs for Hermann Oelrichs as Consul at N. York from Bremen.” In very good condition, with a short fold split, overall soiling, and some of the filled-in information blotted out.
