Two items: a TLS signed "Love, Joan," one page, 6 x 7, personal letterhead, October 23, 1971, addressed to "Bertil," in full: "Thank you very much for taking time to attend our press conference. It was wonderful to see you again, and looking so well. Thank you for being so gracious and charming to me. You helped to make the conference a pleasant one for me, and I am so grateful. Bless you, and my best wishes to you—and to Gustav as well." The second item is a signed book: My Way of Life. Later printing. NY: Simon & Schuster, 1971. Hardcover, 6.25 x 9.25, 224 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page in black felt tip, "For Bertil, with love, Joan." In overall fine condition. The recipient is likely Prince Bertil of Sweden, Duke of Halland, with "Gustav" presumably referring to either his elder brother, Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, or his father, Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden.
