Daniel Chester French

American sculptor (1850-1931) best known for his monumental historical works, most notably the sculpture that forms the centerpiece of the Lincoln Memorial. ALS signed “David C. French,” one page, 8 x 10, personal letterhead, December 12, 1897. Letter to Mrs. Smith, in full: "Have you the photograph that I sent you of the bust of Mrs. Brooks? If so will you kindly let me take it for a few days?" In very good to fine condition, with splitting along horizontal folds and chipping to edges.
