Description

French naturalist and zoologist (1769-1832) who was instrumental in establishing the fields of comparative anatomy and paleontology. Partly-printed DS in French, signed “G. Cuvier,” one page, 8 x 12, October 19, 1818. Untranslated document issued by La Commission de l'Instruction Publique [Committee on Public Education] concerning scholarships, signed in the lower left by Cuvier. The white wafer seal affixed at the bottom remains fully intact. In fine condition, with scattered soiling.
