Description

Edouard Branly

French inventor (1844-1940) primarily known for his involvement in wireless telegraphy. ALS in French, one page on the inside of a 2.75 x 4.5 postcard, September 8, 1909. Letter to Henry Vidal, in part (translated): "A long absence prevented me from responding to you regarding your project of the glorification of the French heroism. The enemy is vanquished, but pen and word do not…the approach of the mortal misery." Addressed on the reverse side in Branly's own hand. In fine condition.
