Early signature from the revolutionary Harpers Ferry abolitionist

Ink signature, "John Brown,? on an off-white 2 x 1.5 slip, dated in another hand, "June 30, 1836, Franklin, Ohio." Affixed to a slightly larger card. In very good condition, with a vertical split passing through his last name, and irregular overall toning from old adhesive residue. In 1836, Brown moved his family to Franklin Mills, Ohio, where he built and operated a tannery along the Cuyahoga River. It was not until 1859?23 years later?that he conducted the infamous raid at Harpers Ferry. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
