Description

Jacques Ibert

French composer (1890–1962) best remembered for his orchestral works. TLS, one page, 5 x 7, Academie de France letterhead, December 30, 1949. Response to an autograph collector, in part: “I dare say that I hardly reply to that sort of letter begging for autographs, keepsakes, thoughts or something else…But, as a young English brother-composer, you are entitled to an exception.” Below, Ibert pens a three-bar AMQS from his “String-Quartet.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
