Gordon Cooper and Scott Carpenter

Two menus for Waldorf-Astoria luncheons honoring the Mercury crews of the Aurora 7 and the Faith 7, both 4 x 6, dated June 5, 1962, and May 22, 1963, individually signed in blue ink, “M. Scott Carpenter” and “Gordon Cooper.” In overall very good to fine condition, with Cooper’s menu showing light soiling and central horizontal crease. Consignor notes that the signatures were obtained by Michael Strunk, a Waldorf-Astoria employee who worked in the banquet department during the 1950s and 1960s. Pre-certified Zarelli Space Authentication.
