Vintage glossy 8 x 10 publicity photo of Armstrong posing with his trumpet, signed and inscribed in green ink, “Best Wishes To ‘Millie,’ from Louis ‘Satch’ Armstrong.” In fine condition, with a bit of light crazing to the emulsion on the right side. Consignor notes that her mother, Emily Grous Hollister, nicknamed ‘Millie,’ obtained the signature while working as a concierge to the stars at Hartford, Connecticut’s State Theatre during the late 1930s and early 1940s.
