Letter to Torchy Hoerschgen, in full: “Thank you very much for your expression of interest in my assignment to the Apollo 17 mission. I hope that we can live up to your expectations and that we can serve the country and mankind through our continued exploration of space—the earth’s frontier. Thank you again.” In fine condition, with a light paperclip impression to top edge, and small stain to left edge. Six months later on December 11, 1972, Schmitt would become the twelfth person to set foot on the moon. Pre-certified Zarelli Space Authentication.
