Unique semi-glossy 13.75 x 10.75 photo of NASA astronaut and future moonwalker Charles Conrad and his family during their visit to the White House, signed and inscribed in black ink, “To Cdr. and Mrs. Charles Conrad, Peter, Thomas, Andrew, Christopher, with appreciation from their country, Lyndon B. Johnson.” Mounted, matted, and framed. In fine condition, with a few light smudges to the inscription, and some scratches to the original wood frame. Conrad would later walk on the moon as the commander of Apollo 12. An outstanding association piece, as signed photographs from a president to a future moonwalker are quite scarce.
