Description

Alfred Wallace

British naturalist, explorer, and biologist (1823-1913) best known for proposing a theory of natural selection which prompted Charles Darwin to publish his own. Vintage matte-finish 4.75 x 6.5 portrait of Wallace posing with an open book, affixed to its original mount, signed on the mount in black ink, “Alfred R. Wallace.” In fine condition. A wonderful example of the revered scientist, who remains uncommon in signed photos. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
